I came to the craft of writing after four decades as an artist, painting my way through life. I love simplicity in most things, though I really enjoy creating engaging characters and plot twists as a writer. I am a queer, trans woman, now in my sixties and married to my wonderful wife for the past fifteen years. I live in the Lanaudiere region of Quebec, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and forests. During the warm months, I tend to our garden and occasionally go mushroom foraging. Those walks in the forest are often moments in which I dream up new characters and stories. Did I mention that we live with our five cats and that we feed a wide variety of birds, a few species of squirrels and a family of chipmunks?
After writing Breaking Free: 45 Years in the wrong body, I knew that writing was my new artistic passion. I hope that my memoir will be helpful to others who are going through similar experiences - you are not alone and you are valued.
I now write thrillers. In fact, my debut thriller, though not yet out, follows in the steps of the last twenty years of my painting career, representing the LGBTQ community.
I do have a dream, many actually, but as a writer, I am not above seeing my memoir and future books in the best-seller category, and beyond this, why not a movie? One thing I know, I am one of only a few trans women thriller writers, and I love creating characters and plots that involve LGBTQ issues and concerns. The main character of my thriller is a queer, trans woman that I hope to introduce to you, dear reader, in the not-too-distant future.
